AGENDAS FOR ALL CLASSES FOR TUESDAY, JULY 24, 2007

Periods 1 and 3, Senior Composition/Project:

1. As you may have noticed, with the help of Mr. Burd, you began the work of narrowing your topics for the senior project. You letters of intent-2 to 3 pages are to be collected Tuesday.

2. Many members of both periods will be taking the CELDT Test during class time in the classroom on Wednesday. Those not taking the test may continue working on their senior projects.

3. No grammar assignment will be given today.

4. Students will follow Mr. Burd's course outline on the poster on the wall to your left.

5. Students will begin working on speeches within their groups.


Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:

1. Figures of speech test.

2, Standard vocabulary test. Students will be required to use these words correctly and appropriatly in original sentences.

3. New figures of speech assignment and discussion.

4. New standard vocabulary assignment.

5. Reading, analyizing, annotating, and discussion of Huck Finn.

6. Collection of late assignments at a discounted grade.

7. New assignment in the Bedford Reader.

8. Students will continue reading Huck Finn as homework. A minimum of ten pages is suggested.

9. A REMINDER: This is a college level class. Cross-talk is not permitted. Please treat this lesson as one would at a university. Professors do not discipline students; they remove them from the class.


Periods 5 and 6, American Lit/Comp:

1. Grammar in context dictation assignment.

2. Figures of speech assignment for testing tomorrow.

3. Standard vocabulary assignment for testing tomorrow.

4. Poetry readings from the Pacing Plan.

5. Students will write a monograph comparing two poems or two authors from the Pacing Plan.
