AGENDAS FOR ALL CLASSES FOR TUESDAY, JULY 31, 2007

Periods 1 and 3, Senior Composition/Senior Project:

1. Students will continue their one-minute autobiographical speeches.

2. Students will prepare for their one-minute speeches on their college application essays.

3. Students will work on their definiiton essays. The definition essays will be collected on Friday.

4. Students will begin work on their "compare-contrast" essays on their chosen senior project topics.

5. Good attendance is a prerequisite for passing. Some students are coming in as much as 30 minutes late. I have reported this to the counselors and coordinator.


Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP curriculum:

1. Figures of speech quiz, Page 972.

2. Standard vocabulary quiz.

3. "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson in the Bedford Reader.

5. Continue Reading Huck Finn keeping in mind the information we discussed in class.

6. Note taking is a skill which must be learned. Cornell Notes is the preferred form at Hollywood High School. The extra information I provide in each discussion should be in your notes. You will need this information for you tests and exams. The information that I give you is to clarify or elaborate information in the texts. I will collect your notes to "encourage" you to take them.


Period 5, American Lit/Composition:

2. Standard vocabulary quiz, Page 977, Column 1.

3. Dictation

4. Grammar in context annotation for tommorrow's dictation.

5. "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment": reading, annotation, discusssion.

we didnt get to the dictation so are we still taking the test in the begining of class like always???
