Period 1, Senior Comp/Project:
1. Nearly all students in this class will be taking the CELDT test in our classroom. Obviously, I had to cancel our Library date.
2. Those students who are not taking the CELDT Test will have a further opportunity to work on their definitions essays in preparation for the senior project. They may also write out their "in-group" speeches and make the notes they will use to give those speeches.
3. I will need all definition essays by Friday, July 27, 2007.
Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:
THIS CLASS WILL MEET IN THE LIBRARY FOR THE PURPOSE OF WRITING A SUMMARY OF MARK TWAINS LIFE. PAPERS WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE END OF THE PERIOD. ASSIGNMENTS FOR THURSDAY FOLLOW:
1. Figures of speech test.
2. New figures of speech assignment
3. Standard vocabulary assignment for testing on Thursday.
4. Bedford Reader, Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery" on Page 122. Reading, annotating, discussion in preparation for an essay on manners and morals.
5. Students will continue to read Huck Finn as an everyday homework assignment.
6. Students are reminded that cross-talk is not acceptable in class.
Periods 5 and 6, American Lit/Comp:
THESE CLASSES WILL TAKE THE CELDT TEST ON WEDNESDAY-TODAY
1. The figures of speech on Page 969 will be tested on Thursday.
2. The figures of speech assignment is Page 970 in Literature and Integrated Studies to be tested on Friday.
3. Vocabulary in Column 2 on Page 975 will be tested on Thursday.
4. The new vocabulary assignment will be Column 1 on Page 976 and will be tested on Friday.
5. Students will read "La Realacion" for homework.
