WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL.
Periods 1 and 3, Senior Composition/Senior Composition:
1. Since I did not receive any of your rough drafts by email during the two-month break, I will have to take class time to help you with your final 8 to 12 page essays.
2 Your homework for Tuesday October 30, 2007 is to have an introduction ready for me to read. You will have to determine the thrust of your thesis statement. It may be to explain a problem, pose a solution to a problem, tell the "why" of a problem, describe an occupation or activity. There are other possibilities, as well.
3. If I have read and given you credit for your introduction, you will start working on the body. Remember to work in your research and 20 hours of experience into the body of the essay.
4. We will have an activity concerning the up-coming Performing Arts Magnet play, "The Would Be Invalid" by Moliere.
Period 2, Honors English 11 using the AP Curriculum:
1. You will continue the work of learning to decipher AP test prompts.
2. We will spend some time on the up-coming production by the Performing Arts Magnet, "The Would Be Invalid" by Moliere.
Periods 5 and 6, American Literature and Composition:
1. Students will review essay writing prompts.
2. Grammar in context dictation will be assigned and annotated for tomorrow's test.
3. Students will explore The Preforming Arts Magnet's up-coming play, "The Would Be Invalid."
