TO ALL STUDENTS WHO FOLLOWED MS. ADSIT'S INSTRUCTIONS: THANK YOU!
Periods 1 and 3, Senior Composition/Senior Project:
1. Now that both Ms. Adsit and I have given you instruction on the graphic organizers for research papers in your textbook, Please begin to work in earnest on your papers. Be prepared to bring your papers to me with the outline you have chosen. If the two outlines in your text book do not seem to fit your topic, please go online to the Owl of Purdue for further examples of outlines.
2. I will be forced to give further written assignments in Writer's Choice if you continue to chat instead of work during the class period. I cannot write your papers for you.
3. Please email me your rough drafts as soon as you can. All papers handed in must be submitted to my email address, as well. This is to avoid any chance of your saying I lost your paper.
Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:
1. I wish to thank Ms. Adsit for starting you on your Rogerian essays. You may find it useful to read the Spark Notes on all three novels you are writing about. Barns and Noble has them.
2. You will continue deconstructing the AP Rubric for this year's released essay on advertising. I hope you can write this essay in class on Wednesday.
3. Upon finishing the essay you have written, you will be asked to score your classmates essays using the AP Rubric established for that essay.
4. We will continue to deconstruct prompts and rubrics for released AP Tests.
5. On Thursday, we will meet in the Library. Mr. Lee will explain the Accelerated Reader Progrm so that you may read and take tests on foreign works that may appear on your AP test. The list on Ms. Campbell's website will be the guide for your reading. To her list of books that should be read before entering college, I have added The Tale of Genjiby Madam Murasaki(The world's oldest novel) and The Art of Warby Sun Shi(my Chinese spelling may be incorrect).
6. Your homework will be 1. Finish one book and take the Accelerated Reader test every three weeks.
2. Continue to work on your Rogerian essay I will need it in two weeks.
Periods 5 and 6, American Literature/Composition:
1. Continued close reading of "The Devil and Tom Walker."
2. Grammar-in-context dictation assingmment from "The Devil and Tom Walker."
3. Continued textual assignments from the Pacing Plan.
