PLEASE REMEMBER THE GRADES THE STUDENTS EARNED ARE THE MEASURE OF THE PRODUCT DELIVERED TO THE TEACHER.
Periods 1 and 3, World Literature:
1. Late papers will not be accepted.
2. Papers turned in without being vetted by Spell Check and Grammar Check will be returned ungraded and counted as fails. Papers submitted by email should be sent as Word attachments so that you may use use Spell Check and Grammar Check.
3. We will use the textbook for World Literature.
4. You will be expected to finish an Accelerated Reader and take the test in the Library every three weeks. Read only those Accelerated Readers on Mrs. Campbell's Blog. Her list is titled "The 101 Books and Plays to Be Read before Going to College." These tests will be and integral part of your work and grades.
5. You will be expected to check my blog each day for updates and information to prepare you for surprise tests.
6. There will be in-class essays on the textual materials.
Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:
1. Please reexamine the packet on The International Phonetic Alphabet I gave you before Christmas. Most major dictionaries use this system as the pronunciation guide.
2. Please continue with your Accelerated Readers and the concomitant testing in the Library.
3. Complying with the wishes of my AP professor, we will spend some time with current events. I plan to organize debates around the news items.
4. We will use the Bedford Reader.
5. Late papers will not be accepted and an "F" will be entered in the grade book.
6. Papers turned in not having been vetted by Spell Check and Grammar Check will not be accepted and an "F" will be entered the grade book. Papers submitted by email must be sent as Word attachments so that you can use Spell Check and Grammar Check.
7. You will receive a packet of information on Grimm's Law and Verner's Law. We will discuss the interrelationships of Indo-European languages.
8. You will be expected to read my blog daily for updates and information for surprise tests.
9. We will continue with Greek and Latin roots.
10. Of course, there will be in-class essays.
Periods 5 and 6, American Literature/Composition:
1. We will continue to use the textbook.
2. The Accelerated Readers will become an integral part of your grade. Please read the books and plays on Mrs. Campbell's list of 101 books and plays one should read before going to college. The list is on her blog.
3. Many of you have done a good job on "The Crucible."
4. You will be expected to read my blog every day for updates and information on surprise tests and dictations.
5. There will be in-class essays.
6. Papers sent by email must be sent as Word attachments so that you can use Spell Check and Grammar Check. Papers turned in without the use of Spell Check and Grammar Check will not be accepted and entered as fails.
