AGENDAS FOR ALL CLASSES FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2008

ALL STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE SELECTED A NEW ACCELERATED READER FROM THE PROVIDED LISTS.

WORLD LITERATURE STUDENTS WILL SELECT A BRITISH OR FOREIGN TEXT FROM THE LIST.



Periods 1 and 3, World Literature:

1. Collection of the essays on irony in "The Wife of Bath's Tale."

2. Vocabulary exercises for Oedipus Rex handouts.

3. Vocabulary self-test.

4. Continue part-taking in Oedipus Rex.

5. Students will write the rough draft of the Toulmin essay on the claim that Oedipus, himself, is responsible for his crimes as homework.


Period 2 Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:

1. Collection of the "Querencia" essay.

2. Students will continue work on Gore Vidal's essay on drugs in The Bedford Reader.

3. Current event discussion.

4. Rough draft of the essay on Page 57 in Cliff's AP handbook will be peer-edited on Tuesday of next week, February 19, 2008.

5. Students will continue work on the Toulmin essay on alleged public school failure.

6. Students will continue to annotate and research the handout on Postmodernism.


Periods 5 and 6, American Literature/Composition:

1. Continued close reading of "Winter Dreams."

2. Assistance with the essay on misogyny in "Winter Dreams."
