AGENDAS FOR ALL CLASSES FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2008

ALL STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE ACCELERATED READER TEST ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 14, 2008.

WORLD LITERATURE STUDENTS MUST READ BOOKS OR PLAYS BY BRITISH OR FOREIGN AUTHORS FROM MRS. CAMPBELL'S LIST OF 101 BOOKS AND PLAYS TO BE READ BEFORE GOING TO COLLEGE.


Periods 1 and 3, World Literature:

1. Continued close reading of "The Wife of Bath's Tale." (Period 1)

Exercises on Page 785. (Period 3)

2. Prepare yourselves to write a traditional essay on the paradoxes involved in the "Wife of Bath's Tale."


Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:

1. Further discussion on Existentialism.

2. Students will brainstorm ideas concerning public education.

3. Students will prepare a prewrite for a Toulmin essay on the alleged failure of public schools.

4. Students will be expected to do research beyond the handouts issued to them.

5. The Toulmin essay on the failure of public education will be collected on Monday, February 18, 2008.




Periods 5 and 6, American Literature/Composition:

1. Continued work on Faulkner's "The Tall Men."

2. Introduction to figures of speech.

3. Exercises on "The Tall Men." (Page 655)
