WORLD LITERATURE STUDENTS MUST READ A BRITISH OR FOREIGN TEXT.
Periods 1 and 3, World Literature:
1. Students will hand in their Toulmin essays on Oedipus Rex.
2. Students will hand in the annotated hanouts on The Mahabharata.
3. Student reading of The Mahabharata. The text begins on Page 461.
4. Students will annotate another handout on the text for homework.
Period 2, Honors 11Th English using the AP Curriculum:
1. Peer editing of the essay based on Page 105 in Cliff's AP text.
2. Students will read Jessica Mitford's "Behind the Formaldehyde Curtain" starting on Page 305 in The Bedford Reader.
3. For homework, students will annotate information on satire and write the 40 minute timed essay on Page 107 to be peer-edited tomorrow.
Periods 5 and 6, American Literature/Composition:
1. Annotated handouts on "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" will be collected.
2. Close reading of "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," Page 568 in your textbook.
3. Handout for annotation.
