AS I HAVE ANNOUNCED AND BLOGGED, I WILL GIVE EXTRA CREDIT TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO ATTEND A PERFORMANCE, BRING ME A TICKET STUB, AND A CRITIQUE OF THE PERFORMANCE. NOTE: AS I HAVE INSTRUCTED YOU, A CRITIQUE IS NOT A REHASH OF THE PLOT; IT IT, INSTEAD, YOUR ANALYSIS OF THE ACTING, THE SCRIPT, THE LIGHTING, THE MUSIC, THE SOUND EFFECTS, AND THE SETS GIVING SUPPORTED OPINIONS OF THESE.

THE EXTRA POINTS WILL BE BASED ON THE QUALITY OF THE CRITIQUE. REHASHES OF THE PLOT WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT.

I HAVE BEEN PRIVILEGED TO ATTEND TWO REHEARSALS OF THE SUGAR BEAN SISTERS BY OUR PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS. THE PRODUCTION IS DIRECTED BY MS. KATE BRIDGES, PRODUCED BY MR. PAUL ITKIN WITH SET DESIGN BY MR. FRANK SELE.

AS USUAL, I WILL OFFER EXTRA CREDIT TO THOSE WHO ATTEND, BRING ME A TICKET STUB AND WRITE A CRITIQUE OF THE PERFORMANCE. I WILL REVIEW CRITIQUE WRITING IN CLASS WITH YOU.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL STUDENTS:

SENIORS WILL DO WELL TO PRACTICE THEIR PRESENTATIONS. I SHALL ALLOW CLASS TIME FOR POWER POINT PRACTICE. THE CLASSES ARE EXCESSIVE IN SIZE SO WE MAY NOT HAVE TIME FOR EIGHT MINUTES FOR EACH STUDENT. THE TIME WILL BE DEVIDED AS EQUABLY AS POSSIBLE.

WE MAY NOT HAVE MUCH TIME FOR "THE VALUE OF LIFE" IN THE DISTRICT MANDATED CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITIES' CURRICULUM SINCE WE HAVE HAD TO INVEST SO VERY MUCH TIME IN THE SENIOR PROJECT.


WORLD HISTORY STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO WATCH NEWS PROGRAMS, THE HISTORY CHANNEL AND HISTORY INTERNATIONAL. IPODS AND VIDEO GAMES WILL NOT EARN YOU A PASSING GRADE.
