TENTH GRADE ENGLISH:

1.USING YOUR TEXT BOOKS, YOUR "SAY/MEAN/MATTER" AND CORNELL NOTES, YOU WILL WRITE A PERSUASIVE FIVE PARAGRAPH ESSAY USING ONE OF THESE TWO THESIS STATEMENTS:

A. IT IS BEST TO CONFORM TO THE BEHAVIORAL AND SARTORIAL NORMS ESTABLISHED BY YOUR PEERS.

B. IT IS BEST TO BE YOURSELF AND DRESS IN A MANNER THAT SHOWS YOUR INDIVIDUALITY.


2. STUDENTS ANNOTATE "MAKE THE CONNECTION," AND "BACKGROUND" ON PAGE 354.

3. STUDENTS WILL USE THESE ANNOTATIONS TO CONSTRUCT A "SAY/MEAN/MATTER" PAGE.

4. STUDENTS WILL USE THE "SAY/MEAN/MATTER" PAGE TO WRITE CORNELL NOTES.

5. STUDENTS WILL BEGIN READING "IT CAN'T BE HELPED" FROM FAREWELL TO MANZANAR .


ELEVENTH GRADE ENGLISH:

1. READING AND EXEGESIS OF PAGES 9 AND 10.

2. STUDENTS WILL WRTIE EXERCISES 1 THROUGH 7 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.

3. STUDENTS WILL WRITE THE VOCABULARY STUDY ON PAGE 12 IN COMPLETE SENTENCES.

4. STUDENTS WILL ANNOTATE "LITERARY FOCUS" ON PAGE 30.

5. STUDENTS WILL USE THE ANNOTATIONS TO WRITE A "SAY/MEAN/MATTER" PAGE.

6. STUDENTS WILL USE THE "SAY/MEAN/MATTER" TO WRITE CORNELL NOTES.
